The Graduate Certificate in Taxation is the first stage of Curtin's modular taxation course, which includes graduate certificate, diploma and masters levels. You can exit after completing four units to receive a graduate certificate, after eight units to receive a graduate diploma or after 12 units for a Master of Taxation.
This course can help you advance your career in taxation. It is a specialised foundation level course that is aimed primarily at taxation graduates who are seeking qualifications or continuing their professional development.
It can also benefit corporate accountants, and financial planners and advisors who require specialist taxation qualifications, as well as members of the legal profession who are seeking a specialist taxation qualification.
In this course you will study the Income Tax Assessment Act, and associated acts and regulations. You will learn how these acts and regulations apply to income tax returns. You can also choose from a wide range of specialist taxation topics to support your current and future career needs.
Admission criteria for Australian and New Zealand students
A bachelor degree (or equivalent) in any discipline, or at least 3 years' relevant work experience. Applicants must also meet Curtin's English language proficiency requirements.

On graduation you may be eligible for membership of CPA Australia, The Tax Institute and Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ).
