You may also have the opportunity to plan and experience an international study tour.

During your course, you will have the opportunity to undertake a cross-disciplinary stream of four units. This is a multi-faculty initiative, linking the MIB with a wide choice of specialisations. The cross-disciplinary nature of these streams means you will have the opportunity to interact with students from other faculties.

Complete the MIB in one year
Eligible applications can apply for credit, based on a wide range of criteria and complete the MIB in eight units or one year full time. Applicants with extensive leadership experience in relevant industry settings will be eligible to apply for up to 100 credit points of Credit for Recognised Learning (CRL).*

Human Rights
In this stream, you will examine modern human rights instruments and institutions, and consider the political, historical and philosophical development of the ideas that underpin current systems. You will also look at the subject from a multidisciplinary, multicultural and multi-religious perspective to develop a globalised understanding. This stream is suits individuals currently working in, or interested in the field, as well as those seeking to apply human rights principles to their own fields.

National Security
A need exists for highly trained experts in national security and strategic affairs, capable of analysing the increasingly complex problems around international relations and global security. The National Security stream will allow you to gain skills and develop a greater understanding and appreciation of national security, and the pivotal role it has for states and agencies.

Business of Mining
The mining sector is very different to other industries, due to the high level of risk involved and the large capital requirements of projects. The industry is becoming more complex as resource extraction moves to new jurisdictions and more difficult to extract resources in an attempt to keep development pipelines full. This stream is offered in partnership with the Western Australian School of Mines. By undertaking this stream, students will gain the insight required to make good decisions throughout the mining value chain.

Predictive Data Analytics
The Predictive Data Analytics stream consist of four units selected to complement and enhance the employability of graduates already working or interested in managing big data in an international context. By successfully applying predictive analytic techniques, businesses can effectively interpret big data for strategic decisions in uncertain global business environments, and become more proactive in tackling challenges and remain competitive.

Elective stream
Instead of choosing a specialisation, you may also choose to undertake an elective stream, so that you can have more flexibility over the units you will undertake.
