This course is intended for students who have completed the Graduate Diploma in Critical Care Nursing or equivalent.

The course is designed to provide the theoretical foundations of nursing science, together with the clinical knowledge and skills associated with your chosen stream. It focuses on the development of clinical leadership, promotion and integration of evidence-based nursing practice, offering you further clinical skills and an opportunity to extend your career options. A significant component of the course is conducted in a health care institution.

Admission criteria

Admission criteria for Australian and New Zealand students

A Graduate Diploma in Critical Care Nursing or equivalent with a course weighted average of 70 or equivalent.

English language proficiency

IELTS Academic (International English Language Testing System)

Reading 7.0
Listening 7.0
Overall band score 7.0

These courses can only be undertaken on a part-time basis as there is concurrent employment requirement in the relevant specialty area. It is recommended students undertake 1-2 units of study per semester, in internal study mode. This is done to accommodate the employment requirements in the relevant specialty area necessary to achieve specialist clinical competence.
