The Marketing Major (Mcom) provides you with a comprehensive and in-depth coverage of the principles of marketing management and strategy, buyer behaviour and marketing research as well as key specialist topics relevant to contemporary marketing theory and practice.

Specialist topics include aspects of marketing communication, digital marketing and the application of marketing in particular industries, such as tourism.

As part of your studies, you will undertake a significant research project providing the opportunity to pursue a topic of your particular professional interest.

The course is industry-focused and relevant to the marketing profession. There is regular interaction with industry through guest speakers and practical workplace projects. You will have the opportunity to apply your critical thinking and analytical abilities to modern marketing challenges, with a particular focus on marketing in an international context.

Admission criteria for Australian and New Zealand students

A bachelor degree (or equivalent) in any discipline, or a Graduate Certificate in any discipline. Applicants must also meet Curtin's English language proficiency requirements.

2018 Domestic fee paying Domestic fee-paying - A domestic fee-paying place is a place at university which is not Commonwealth supported, that is, not subsidised by the Australian Government. Domestic fee paying students will be charged tuition fees and may be eligible for FEE-HELP assistance for all or part of those tuition fees. $27,500*

* Based on a first-year full-time study load of 200 credits. 400 credits are needed to graduate from this course. The total cost will depend on your course options (i.e. units selected and time taken to complete).

Credit for previous study

Applications for credit for recognised learning (CRL) are assessed on an individual basis. Applicants with a recognised undergraduate degree in marketing or a related discipline may be eligible for a maximum of 100 credits CRL.
