Course overview

Event management skills are valuable for planning and managing a variety of events such as festivals, concerts, shows, exhibitions, conferences, cultural and sporting events.

This major provides you with the skills you need to work in event management in Australia and abroad and provides a foundation in event management and planning.

Your study will include sustainable management of events, the impact of events on the local economy, the critical aspects of event planning and management, and the role of risk management in event management.

You will have the opportunity to gain practical experience through field trips, assessments and industry speakers, and can gain a broad range of business management skills that you could apply to other industries.

Event management is offered as part of the Bachelor of Commerce. You can enhance your studies with a secondary major or choose from a range of elective units to support your career goals.

This course is available as a double major with Public Relations.

STAT entry STAT entry - The Special Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT) assesses competencies considered important for success at uni. These tests are provided by the Tertiary Institutions Service Centre (TISC) to help mature age candidates apply for certain courses.

Written English and either verbal or quantitative
