Course overview

Most of the ‘big problems’ currently facing society cannot be solved by engaging experts from just one discipline area. They require input from people who can work and communicate across science disciplines, and also more broadly across science and into the social sciences and business.

This pre-major is flexible enough to accommodate those interested in undertaking rigorous study in more than one science discipline; combining areas such as biology, chemistry, computing, geology, health science, mathematics or physics. It can also accommodate the study of individual units from other faculties.

It provides a direct pathway to the multidisciplinary science major. It also provides a possible pathway into Curtin’s engineering courses and other high demand, highly prescriptive courses, such as medical imaging science and pharmacy. Students interested in this opportunity must consult the Course Coordinator.
