Physical Science is the science of non-living systems. It commonly consists of four broad areas: astronomy, physics, chemistry, and the Earth sciences. These sciences are all fundamental to our understanding of the world about us, and will underpin our ability to solve many global problems (for example global warming, water shortages, other resource limitations, and finding alternative energy supplies). If you are driven to tackle global problems, and better understand the fundamentals of physical systems and how they work, then majors in this area may be ideal.
This pre-major provides an appropriate foundation for those interested in the physical sciences. It provides a direct pathway to majors in chemistry, geophysics and physics.
There are a variety of units available in the pre-major. Before you advance to the chemistry, geophysics or physics majors in your second year, you may be required to complete specific units.
